For Writers
Helen Palmer said it best with her observation, "Writing is the worst job that anyone ever got into." But those who are writers know that they have little choice in the matter because "There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you" (Maya Angelou). Writing is a tiring, thankless job, at least for the first five years. No one cares if you accomplish anything when you first start, and it will be so long before you get any form of recognition for your work.

During the first few years I finally decided to take my writing seriously, my education was reading craft books and studying the novels I loved. Here is a list of some of my favorite craft books and resources for writers that helped me when I started:
-
Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott
-
Story Genius by Lisa Cron
-
Save the Cat Writes a Novel by Jessica Bordy
-
The Anatomy of a Story by John Truby
-
2,000 to 10,000 by Rachel Aarons
-
The 5 Day Novel by Scott King
-
